Class | Ground-Based | Early Winter / Shoulder Season
The Winter Systems Primer is an introductory course designed to prepare students for cold-weather conditions without committing to full winter operations. This course sits at the boundary between shoulder season and winter, focusing on systems awareness, prevention, and preparation—not endurance.
Students learn how winter breaks people and gear, how cold-related problems actually start, and how to recognize and correct them early—before small mistakes become serious.
This course is intentionally conservative. It builds understanding, confidence, and decision-making habits that allow students to operate safely as temperatures drop, daylight shortens, and margins tighten.
